Collaborative Community Project: Aman Setu- Symbiosis School of Liberal Arts
English as a Second Language (ESL) Programme
The Symbiosis School of Liberal Arts (SSLA)approached Madhavi Kapur Foundation to take on a joint venture, where their students would volunteer with the school as part of their community work assignment.
Students from SSLA will be actively involved in the English as a Second Language (ESL) programme with Aman Setu children who come from homes where English is not a primary language. The objective is to enhance their conversational and functional English skills and help them develop more self-confidence.
Fifty-three students from SSLA came to Aman Setu on August 10, 2011 for an orientation programme. They were taken on a tour of both the campuses, and given a presentation on Aman Setu by the Topaz butterflies. The SSLA students were excited about the possibility of volunteering with the school. |
